Craps Bets

Any seven: Betting that the next roll will be a 7. Also known as Big Red. Pays 4:1. House edge is 16.7%.

Come: Bet made after the come out roll. Very similar to a pass line bet. Betting that a come number (say 5) will be thrown before a 7. House edge is 1.41%.

Don't Come: Bet made after the come out roll. Very similar to a don't pass bet. Betting that a don't come number (say 5) will not be thrown before a seven. House edge is 1.4%.

Don't Pass: Betting that the shooter will not make the point before a seven is thrown. House edge is 1.40%. A don't pass bet can be taken down, but not increased, after the come-out roll.

E or C: E is for eleven, C is for any craps. E is betting that the next roll will be an 11, C is betting that the next roll will be a 2, 3 or 12. Can bet either or both. One unit bet for each. One roll bet. House edge is 11.1%.

Field: Betting that the next roll is a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12 will be thrown. 2 and 12 pays 2 to 1. One roll bet. House edge is 5.55%.

Hardways: Betting that the 4, 6, 8 or 10 will be thrown hard (when both dice show a four, it's a hard 8). Bet stays up till a hardway is thrown, a soft number is made (5 and 3 for a soft 8) or the shooter sevens out. House edge is 9.09%.

Hop: One roll bet. Betting that a particular number will show on the next roll on the dice. High house edge.

Horn: Betting that the next roll will be a 2, 3, 11, or 12. One roll bet. One unit bet on each number. House edge 12.5%.

Lay: Betting that a certain number (4,5,6,8,9, or 10) will not be rolled before a 7 comes up. The casino takes 5% of the winnings on these bets. The 5% commission is paid up front. House edge is 2.44% on 4 or 10, 3.23% on 5 or 9 and 4% on 6 or 8.

One roll bets ( proposition bets ): See E/C, any seven, Horn, Field.

Pass: Betting that the shooter will make the point before a seven is rolled. House edge is 1.41%.
