The 'any craps' bet in a Casino Craps Game is a 'next roll' bet. If a point is made, you lose your 'any craps' bet, and you haven't won anything yet, because the pass line bet hasn't been resolved. If you do end up winning your 'pass line bet', you've effectively decreased your win by the amount of your 'any craps' bet. If you end up losing your 'pass line bet', then of course you have lost more than your initial 'pass line bet' now haven't you... because you've lost the 'any craps' bet as well.
When you begin 'hedging' your bets in a game of Casino Craps, you introduce costs that are hidden. When you win, you always win less than you would have if you hadn't hedged your bet. When you lose, you can end up losing less, which is a benefit, but you can easily lose more.
Hedging is intended to reduce the volatility of your Craps Gambling Bankroll. A bankroll's volatility is simply the amount it fluctuates up or down during your gambling session. A volatile Casino Craps Bankroll can swell very rapidly and then dip again just as fast. A less volatile Casino Craps Bankroll will never go down to rapidly, but unfortunately, it won't be going up very rapidly either.
Hedging while Betting Casino Craps will in fact decrease the volatility of your Craps Gambling Bankroll significantly, so if this is an advantage to your style of casino craps betting play, then develop your own hedging craps strategies and test them out the next time you Play Intertnet Casino Craps Online or at a land based Craps Casino!
